Student Financial Assistance at Marshall University

Higher Education is an investment in yourself and your future. As committed as we are to providing you the best educational experience possible, we are also committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to your education at Marshall.


Our in-state tuition and fee rate for 2010-2011 is $5,385, which is approximately $2,200 or 29% less than the national average of $7,605* at public four-year schools.

In addition, Marshall University offers a wide variety of merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid to provide you even more value and affordability.


In fact, approximately 72% of Marshall University undergraduate students receive financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, student employment and/or academic scholarships. The Office of Student Financial Assistance awards approximately $126 million of financial aid to undergraduate, graduate and medical students.
