Marshall University Scholarships for WV Applicants
- Society of Yeager Scholars

Society of Yeager Scholars receive scholarships totaling the cost of tuition, standard fees, room and board (student must maintain residence on campus), a stipend, a book allowance, a personal computer, a summer study program at Exeter College, Oxford, and funds for further study abroad experience (after applying any qualifying federal and state grants and scholarships). - John Marshall Honors Scholarship

(Up to $4,200) - Awarded to first-time freshmen with a minimum ACT Composite Score of 30 (SAT Score of at least 1330 CR + M) and a 3.5 H.S. Grade Point Average who accept admission into the Honors College by May 15.
Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply for WV Promise Scholarship at www.cfwv.com by March 1 during their senior year of high school to receive this scholarship.
Students who are selected to receive the WV Promise Scholarship will receive a $1,750 John Marshall Honors Scholarship that may be applied to tuition, fees and any other educational expenses.
Students who are not selected to receive the WV Promise Scholarship will receive a $4,200 John Marshall Honors tuition waiver scholarship, which may only be applied to Marshall University tuition charges; it may not be applied to charges for on-line courses.
This is a 4-year scholarship that is renewable. The renewal criteria are as follows:
- Maintain good standing with the Honors College
- Successfully complete at least 26 credits each academic year
- Earn at least a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of freshman year
- Earn at least a 3.5 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of sophomore and junior years
John Marshall Honors Scholarship recipients also qualify to receive the Presidential Scholarship.
- Mary Willis Marshall Honors Scholarship

(Up to $1,500) - Awarded to first-time freshmen with ACT Composite Score between 26 and 29 (SAT Score between 1170 and 1320 CR+M) and a 3.5 H.S. Grade Point Average who accept admission into the Honors College by May 15.
Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply for WV Promise Scholarship at www.cfwv.com by March 1 during their senior year of high school to receive this scholarship.
Students who are selected to receive the WV Promise Scholarship will receive a $500 Mary Willis Honors Scholarship that may be applied to tuition, fees and any other educational expenses.
Students who are not selected to receive the WV Promise Scholarship will receive a $1500 Mary Willis Honors tuition waiver scholarship, which may only be applied to Marshall University tuition charges; it may not be applied to charges for on-line courses.
This is a 4-year scholarship that is renewable. The renewal criteria are as follows:
- Maintain good standing with the Honors College
- Successfully complete at least 26 credits each academic year
- Earn at least a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of freshman year
- Earn at least a 3.5 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of sophomore and junior years
Mary Willis Honors Scholarship recipients also qualify to receive the Presidential Scholarship.
- Presidential Scholarship

(Up to $1,250) – Awarded to first-time freshmen with ACT Composite Score of 24 or higher (SAT Score 1090 CR+M or higher) and a 3.5 H.S. Grade Point Average.
This is a 4-year scholarship that is renewable. The renewal criteria are as follows:
- Successfully complete at least 26 credits each academic year
- Earn at least a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of freshman year
- Earn at least a 3.3 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of sophomore and junior years
- A. Michael Perry Scholarship

(Up to $750) – Awarded to first-time freshmen with ACT Composite Score between 21 and 23 (SAT Score of 980 CR+M and 1080) and a 3.5 or higher H.S. Grade Point Average.
This is a 4-year scholarship that is renewable. The renewal criteria are as follows:
- Maintain good standing with the Honors College
- Successfully complete at least 26 credits each academic year
- Earn at least a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of freshman year
- Earn at least a 2.75 cumulative Grade Point Average by the end of sophomore and junior years
- Athletic Scholarships

(Award amounts vary) – Awarded to qualified students who participate in intercollegiate athletics or cheerleading. Information about athletic scholarships can be obtained by contacting the Marshall University Athletic Department. According to NCAA Bylaws, student-athletes receiving a combination of athletic and other scholarships may have limitations on the total amount the student athlete may receive. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance for more information.

- Endowment and Annual Scholarships

There are hundreds of grant and scholarship funds that have been endowed by an individual or are made available in memory of a family member. Companies and individuals also make several dozen private scholarships available to students on an annual basis. Eligibility for these scholarships varies according to the donor's wishes and not all scholarships are renewable. For most of these scholarships, all financial aid applicants are automatically considered.
- Employee Dependent Undergraduate Tuition Assistance Program

This program provides a tuition waiver covering up to the total cost of the resident Capital Fee and the resident Education and General (E & G) Fee charged by Marshall University regardless of the student's residency to eligible dependents of Marshall University employees.
Dependents of Marshall University employees may apply for this scholarship by completing the Employee Dependent Undergraduate Scholarship Program application. To obtain an application, go to www.marshall.edu/sfa, click on the Forms & Application tab, and then the Scholarship/Grant Applications tab.
- Transfer Student Scholarship for In-state Students

(Up to $1,000) - Transfer students who have earned a minimum of 26 credits and have a transfer credit cumulative grade point average of 3.5 qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for two additional semesters beyond the first year of eligibility as long as the student maintains an overall grade point average of 3.5 and successfully completes 26 credits at Marshall University after one academic year. This is a tuition waiver scholarship and may only be applied to Marshall University tuition charges; it may not be applied to charges for on-line courses.
